カルフォルニアからアリゾナ Day 3

Leaving the rest area in the Mojave desert and headed east. But our truck started having abnormal vibrations near Needles, CA. We went to a tire shop and found out that the five of eight wheel studs had been broken off, and the three nuts were loose. The dually tires were about to come off entirely! Thank God, I noticed in time.

Mojave砂漠のレストエリアを出て東へ向かう。カルフォルニアの東の端、Needlesの近くで車に異常な振動が。急遽タイヤ店に行き、チェックしたところ、なんとタイヤを固定するナット８本のうち５本が折れて、残りの3っつは緩んでいた！タイヤが外れる寸前。いやー、気がついて良かった。

The tire shop managed to get the parts and fixed it in 4 hours. It was possible that we had to cancel the show. That would be a big financial damage. It is a big gamble every time.

パーツも何とか入手出来て4時間ほどの遅れで済んで良かった。場合によってはショーをキャンセルしなければならない場合もあり得る。経済的打撃は大きい。毎回ギャンブルだ。

We drove on after the sunset in order to recover the lost time. We got on I-10, drove through Phoenix and Tucson, and stopped at a rest area near the NEw Mexico border.

その後遅れを取り戻すため、日が落ちてからも運転して、インターステート10に乗り、Phoenix、Tucsonを通過して、ニューメキシコ州境近くにて停泊。
